Fleet & Logistics Officer
About the Role
Green Label Services seeks a Fleet & Logistics Officer to coordinate the movement of our specialised hazardous-waste vehicles, manage driver scheduling, and ensure all transport operations comply with NEMA regulations and road-safety standards. The role demands a calm, highly organised professional who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily vehicle dispatch and route optimisation for waste-collection assignments.
- Maintain an accurate fleet register including vehicle documents, licences, and insurance renewals.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and log all repair and service activities.
- Ensure all vehicles carry the correct hazardous-material placards, spill kits, and PPE.
- Monitor driver behaviour through trip reports, fuel logs, and GPS tracking data.
- Liaise with NEMA, UNRA, and other regulatory bodies on transport permits and compliance.
- Manage relationships with approved garages, tyre suppliers, and spare-parts vendors.
- Investigate and report vehicle incidents or near-misses in line with QEHS procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Logistics, Transport Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of fleet management experience, preferably in a regulated industry.
- Familiarity with hazardous-goods transport regulations (ADR or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
- Valid Ugandan driving permit (class B minimum).
- Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be on call for operational emergencies.
